20th Anniversary Celebration
November 2005

Falklands veteran Simon Weston OBE and Welsh Assembly Government First Minister, Rhodri Morgan AM, joined with 300 guests at the 20th anniversary celebration of Mirus in November 2005.

The special event marked the culmination of a 12 month of celebrations for the trust which operates across South Wales from its Cardiff headquarters.

One of the highlights of the evening was the premier of a short film commissioned by Mirus about the life of three of its service users. The footage for ‘Changing Lives’ was filmed throughout the summer months showing the service users going about their daily lives.

Mirus chief executive, Steve Cox, said: “The film is a window into the life and work of Mirus.”

In addition to the film, a number of awards were given to staff for their dedication and commitment to Mirus.

Steve added: “The anniversary seemed a fitting time to say a public thank you to all those people who work day in day out to do a very important job. Our people are our most important asset and we wanted to recognise the contribution they make.”
