Working as part of an experienced team, you will support people with learning disabilities, some of who may challenge the service we provide. You will need experience of supporting people with learning disabilities, have a good value base and be fully committed to supporting service users in planning their support around their personal goals and aspirations.

Casual Relief Worker Supporting Information

As a Personal Assistant/Casual Relief Worker, you will provide essential support to people with learning disabilities within their own homes and the community. Some of the people we support may challenge the service we provide, so you must have excellent personal qualities, a good value base and a positive approach. Previous experience is not essential.

We provide 24 hour support and shifts are planned on a rota basis, which includes weekends, evenings and nights. Sleep-ins are also a requirement and payment is at a rate of £23.87. We also offer a 6% non-contributory pension scheme, 4 weeks paid holidays and 12 Bank Holidays. All posts are subject to Enhanced Disclosure under the criminal records bureau.

The work of our organisation is overseen by our Board of Voluntary Trustees.

This is a voluntary role but gives people an opportunity to contribute to the strategic development and management of a large organisation. 

There is an expectation to attend 6 meetings per year along with some additional duties.  Members of the board are entitled  to expenses in order to carry out travelling, hotel and other expenses properly incurred by them in attending and returning from meetings of the council or any committee of the council or general meetings of the company or in connection with business of the company.

We are keen to enhance the skills and contribution of our Trustees and if you feel you can bring relevant experience we would be keen to hear from you.
